Call for Artists: Animal-Inspired Art Contest

The newest member of the Village of the Arts is joining forces with the Artist Guild of Manatee to promote the arts and the human-animal bond through an annual art contest. Bradenton Veterinary Hospital, which recently opened in a new location at 1324 17th Ave West in The Village of the Arts, has issued a call for entries in the First Annual Animal-Inspired Art Contest.

According to Dr. Laurel Logas, the owner of Bradenton Veterinary Hospital, “We are excited to be actively involved  in the arts and culture of our community. We believe that both pet ownership and the arts bring out the best in people and help make our community a more joyful and civilized place to live. Animal-inspired art celebrates both.”

With a Grand Prize of $500, the art may be executed in any artistic style or medium. The artist must reside at least part-time in the Suncoast. Submissions must be received by 12/1/17. The winner will be celebrated with a reception next January. Art-quality posters of the winning submission suitable for framing will be autographed by the artist and sold as a fund-raiser for The Angel Fund to provide medical help for needy pets.
