Arts and EatsOwned by Jim Copening and Donna Slawsky
Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 12- 8 Arts & Eats is open for business from Wednesday through Friday from 12-8 and Saturday 11-9 at 1114 12th Street West in the center of the Village. Chef Jim Copening, driven by his passion for creating and serving fine, fresh, and original foods has created a restaurant where you'll enjoy a gourmet lunch or dinner celebrating global cuisines in a relaxed, yet elegant setting. We like to call it "affordable elegance." Donna Slawsky, Jim's wife, is curator of the gallery and is a mosaic artist specializing in broken dish mosaics. Her art and jewelry are on display, as well as artworks from local artists.

Arts & Eats is fueled by Chef Jim Copening’s enthusiasm for delighting the senses with the smell, taste, feel, and sight of delicious global food creations. Jim and his wife, Donna Slawsky, moved to Bradenton from New York City to pursue their dream of living in a small community where they could share their creative passions. Jim studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York and was a private chef, providing fine dining experiences in clients’ homes. His love of global cuisines and desire to expose people to a rainbow of diverse flavors led him to create the diverse menu. Jim’s attention to presentation and service will give diners a fine dining experience at affordable prices.
