I too missed the snap of an Onion Pletzl, a real NYC Black & White Cookie, Bialys with a shmear,
Rugelach that melt in your mouth, Ratner's Onion Pockets, Babka, Mandelbroyt, a Braided Challah...
For 12 years I ran BONNI BAKES BAKERY/CAFE in the Village of the Arts. Now that I've closed my business I finally have the time to do something just for me...and maybe you too. I'm re-creating those delicious goodies from the Jewish bakeries of my Brooklyn childhood.
You don't have to be Jewish, but it couldn't hurt.
Mondays I post a descriptive blog on my website, bonnibakesbrooklyn.blogspot.com about what I'll be baking that week. Read it, and if you'd like to buy something, just order it by Wed at 5pm via phone or email.
Pick it up at my home (the TreeHouse) in The Village of the Arts on Friday or Saturday. Or I can have it ready at the Palma Sola Sunday Farmer's Market from 11-3, located at Geraldson's Farm. Simple.
The Menu changes weekly but always includes some regular BONNI BAKES items like Chocolate Orgasm Cookies, Breadstix, Mega Muffins & Cookies, plus homemade Jams, Chutney & Mango Butter. Each week I'll add some of those special Jewish bakery items too.

You'll find me at my "TreeHouse", located behind the former BONNI BAKES BAKERY/CAFE (now Sweets' Bakehouse) at 932 12th St West, in Bradenton's Village of the Arts. Walk down the driveway toward the green wooden fence and through the white wrought iron gate on your right.
