Experience delicious Ethiopian food in an intimate setting prepared by Stephanie Peterson, using recipes handed down by her mother-in-law.
The complete meal is just $15 + tax per person...CASH ONLY. Two seatings -- 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Call Bonni Bakes at (941) 746-6647 for reservations.
A large platter covered with injera (sourdough sponge like bread) will be placed in the middle of the table and on it will be:
zigni alich'a (mild beef stew) beef, onions, butter, ginger, cardamom, garlic
doro we't (spicy chicken stew) chicken, onions, bebere (red pepper spice) butter, hard boiled eggs, side of yogurt
ye'abesha gomen (mustard greens) mustard greens, onions, green pepper, ginger, garlic, butter
ye'atakilt alich'a (vegetable stew) cauliflower, carrots, onions, green pepper, tomato, ginger, garlic, tumeric
yeshiro (chick pea sauce)
ayib (spiced cottage cheese)
injera is served also on the side for dipping up the food...no forks, knives or spoons!
