About the Artists Guild of Manatee
The Artists Guild of Manatee is a nonprofit group formed in 1999 with a mission to build a community where artists live and work while enhancing quality of life and creating a harmonious environment. In the past fifteen years the Guild and the Village community have worked hard to make the Village of the Arts a thriving community of residents and business that support the creative spirit. The Village boundaries stretch from 9th Ave. West to 17th Ave. W. between 9th St. W and 14th St. W. Over 275 individual properties are in the Village boundaries. The Village is a residential neighborhood with a commercial overlay that creates a true live/work/play mix.
The Village has experienced a remarkable 15 years, growing from a neglected neighborhood to one of the most unique and visited places in Manatee County. The Artists Guild is looking forward to the next fifteen years as more residents and businesses move in, infrastructure improvements continue and the Village evolves into the most desirable neighborhood in Bradenton.
The Artists Guild of Manatee is primarily made up of Village residents and business owners. Recent projects include a new Village logo, map and website; developing new events for the public and working with the City of Bradenton on recent ordinances affecting the Village. In the past year we have partnered with United Way Manatee for neighborhood beautification, worked with Realize Bradenton on downtown visioning and planning and offered space to other non profit groups during our artwalks. New goals are to improve gateway signage, attract more great people and businesses and to continue to work with the City of Bradenton and other organizations to enhance and enliven the Village of the Arts area and downtown Bradenton.
